CBC Sports, iClips and MapQuest benefit from Immersive Media’s 360-degree Video

All three companies are using Immersive Media’s patented, 360-degree technology for their websites to give viewers a unique viewing experience.

CBCSports will be using the technology for special “Hockey Night in Canada All-Access” broadcasts throughout the remainder of the season, with Chevrolet as a presenting sponsor.

Immersive Media technology lets viewers control what they see in an online video. With a simple click and drag of a computer mouse, each viewer can control his or her point of view, looking sideways, up or down, or all around in 360-degrees, while also pausing or zooming in or out of the action.
“We’ve been seeing significant traction for our technology in the latter half of 2009 and early 2010, and are especially thrilled to be working with these leaders in their respective industries—online mapping, live-streaming-media and public broadcasting—to bring unique and interactive experiences to their customers,” said Myles McGovern, president and CEO, Immersive Media. “These companies are all trusted brands, and we are honored to help them deliver innovative, new offerings based on our 360-degree video technology.”
